Gothic costume accessories

Along with the gothic subculture lifestyle, also comes a certain style of dressing. Costumes that reflect the Gothic style of dressing are the essence of Halloween. Yes, mostly Goths wear black color and dark shades of other colors like those of red, purple, green and blue. Then there are cybergoths too, they wear flashy clothes with loud colors. So, there is still a lot when it comes to the gothic style of dressing, and not only black tights and corsets as most of us think.

Ripped touches to gothic style clothes are very common.  Rip those black jeans apart at many places, near the thighs preferably. You can use a coarse sandpaper to give your denim a rough look.

Gothic style reflects darkness. Are your hair light colored? Pick up that dark hairspray and spray that hair darker than the darkest night. You can use the classic black color or any other dark tints of red, blue, green, purple, burgundy or chestnut. But, in case you want to use black dye, take care because black dyes (even if they say that they are temporary) are normally harder to wash off. Gothic hairstyle fashion usually favors very long hair. Common hairstyles seen in gothic fashion are Mohawk, spikes, pigtails, layered hairstyle, curly hair, frizzy hair and rough side bangs. You can also wear a headband

The face and skin of a Goth are definitive as white as it can be. Use the lightest tone of makeup foundation. I am talking about that pale white color one would get as if one died an hour ago. Make sure you get that cold-blooded look when you are done with your face makeup.

The lip color ought to reflect fearlessness and confidence in the wearer. Try to use bright red or darker shades of colors like red, purple or blue.

Vampire

Vampire-like fangs will surely give your getup an extra gothic touch. Prices of artificial fangs range from less than a dollar to several dollars. Cheap fangs will also do the trick, but if you want them to seem very realistic, more expensive fangs will serve really well.

Sharp toed, high heeled stilettos are the preferable type of shoes with gothic costume style. Or, you can also wear those very high, black boots that give a dominating look. However, high heeled stilettos are still sexier.

Consider buying fake long eyelashes, too, when you go buy fangs. Else, you can work your eyes makeup by using thick black eye mascara and broad, dark eye shades. Fine detailing is suggested when you work your eyes with makeup.

As for the jewelry, wear very long earrings. Wear loads of jewelry embedded with rubies and other jewels. Big sized and red jewel are recommended. Do not forget to paint the nails of your hands and feet with plain black nail polish.

Experiment with your getup by trying other props. A necklace of a cross of Christ made of silver will be like a cherry on top of a delicious dessert; do wear a cross necklace.
